NEET, JEE Main and CUET photo and signature size (NTA 2026 bulletins)

By ZestyPDF Editorial TeamLast checked against the official notices

NTA's 2026 information bulletins ask for a JPG/JPEG photo of 10–200 KB for NEET UG, JEE Main and CUET UG. The signature is 10–100 KB for NEET and JEE Main, but 10–50 KB for CUET. NTA sets no pixel size. All three ask for 80% of the face visible, including the ears, no mask, on a white background; NEET adds that 80% of the image should be your face. NEET accepts colour or black-and-white; JEE Main and CUET need colour. These are the 2026 bulletins. When we checked on 23 Oct 2026, the JEE Main 2027 bulletin wasn't on the site yet. The 2027 numbers, and NEET's photo date, may change, so check your own bulletin.

Make yours now

Each button opens our free Photo & Signature Resizer with that size already picked. It makes a file that matches the published size and file-size limits, and tells you if your image can't. Your image stays in your browser.

How to make yours

  1. Take the photo against a white background, with no mask and both ears visible.
  2. Press Photo or Signature for your exam under Make yours now. The resizer opens with that exam's KB range picked.
  3. Add your image, then move and resize the crop box so your head and shoulders fill it; for NEET, 80% of the image should be your face. NTA sets no pixel size, so the box keeps your photo's shape.
  4. Press Photo & Signature Resizer, then Download. If the file is over the maximum KB, the resizer makes it smaller in pixels.
  5. Check the KB on the result card before you upload.

What the notice also says

NEET (UG) 2026

  • The photo rule:
“The recent passport size photograph should be either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background. 80% area of the image should be candidate's face. Photograph should be in JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible) between 10 kb to 200 kb.”
  • The photo must be recent. The 2026 bulletin lists it as:
“Passport size Photograph (taken after 01 January 2026)”
  • That date is from the 2026 bulletin. It changes every year.
  • NEET also asks for left- and right-hand finger and thumb impressions, JPG/JPEG, 10–200 KB. We don't have a ready-made size for these.
  • A live photo is also taken and matched to your Aadhaar.

JEE (Main) 2026

  • The photo rule (colour only):
“The recent passport size photograph should be in colour with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background. Photograph in JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible) between 10 kb to 200 kb.”
  • A live photo is also taken.

CUET (UG) 2026

  • The photo:
“Size of the photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb and in JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible).”
  • In colour, with 80% of the face visible including the ears, no mask, on a white background. A live photo is also taken.
  • The signature limit is lower than NEET's and JEE Main's:
“Signature file should be JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible) between 10 kb to 50 kb.”

Questions

What pixel size should my NEET photo be?

NTA doesn't set one; the bulletins give only the KB range. NEET's bulletin says 80% of the image should be your face, so crop to your head and shoulders. Our ready-made size then checks only the file size.

Can I use one signature file for NEET, JEE Main and CUET?

Only if it's 50 KB or less. CUET allows 10–50 KB; NEET and JEE Main allow 10–100 KB.

Is a black-and-white photo OK?

For NEET 2026, yes. JEE Main and CUET 2026 need a colour photo.

Does my NEET photo have to be new?

The 2026 bulletin asks for a photo taken after 01 January 2026. That date changes every year, so check the bulletin for your year.
