IBPS and SBI photo, signature, thumb and declaration size (2026)

The 2026 IBPS notifications (PO/MT-XVI, Clerk CSA-XVI and RRBs-XV) and the SBI Junior Associates 2026 advertisement give the same sizes for all four uploads: photo 200 × 230 pixels, 20–50 KB; signature 140 × 60 pixels, 10–20 KB; left thumb impression 240 × 240 pixels, 20–50 KB; handwritten declaration 800 × 400 pixels, 50–100 KB. All four are JPG/JPEG. The notices call each pixel size “preferred”; the file-size ranges carry no such word.

How to make yours

  1. Take the photo against a light, preferably white, background. Put the signature, thumb impression and declaration on white paper, and scan them at 200 dpi or more, or photograph them flat in good light.
  2. Press the button for the item under Make yours now. The resizer opens with that size already picked.

  5. Before you upload, check the result card: it shows the pixels and the size in KB. If a signature at 140 × 60 can't reach 10 KB, the resizer makes it bigger in the same shape and says so.

What the notice also says

Photo

  • A recent, passport-style colour photo, 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm, on a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
  • No caps, hats or dark glasses. Religious headwear is allowed if it doesn't cover the face.
  • Separately from the upload, you also take a live photo during the application, by webcam or with your phone through a QR code.

Signature

  • Sign on white paper with a black ink pen. The IBPS notices add: not in capital letters. Their wording:
    “sign on white paper with Black Ink pen”

Left thumb impression

  • Black or blue ink on white paper.
  • If you can't give a left thumb impression, the IBPS notice lists what to use instead, in this order: right thumb, then left-hand fingers, then right-hand fingers, then left toe. Say which one you used.

Handwritten declaration

  • IBPS: in English only, in your own handwriting, in black ink on white paper, and not in capital letters. SBI: in English, in black ink, on white paper.
  • The IBPS wording:
    “I, ____ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will submit the supporting documents as and when required.”
  • The SBI wording is different. It adds your date of birth and a last sentence:
    “I,______(Name of the candidate), Date of Birth ______, hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left thumb impression is of mine”

Scanning and documents

  • On scanning, the IBPS notices say:
    “Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi”
  • Documents such as the 10th certificate go in as a PDF:
    “Size of the file should not be exceeding 500 KB.”

Questions

Is 200 × 230 pixels mandatory for the IBPS photo?

The notice calls it “preferred”: “Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)”. The file size has no such word: “Size of file should be between 20kb–50 kb”.

Are the IBPS and SBI sizes the same?

Yes, for all four uploads in the 2026 notices. Only the declaration wording differs: SBI's adds your date of birth and a sentence saying the signature, photograph and thumb impression are yours.

IBPS takes a live photo. Do I still upload one?

Yes. The notices ask for an uploaded photo and, separately, a live photo capture.

What if I can't give a left thumb impression?

The IBPS notice lists the order to follow: right thumb, then left-hand fingers, then right-hand fingers, then left toe. Name the one you used.

Can I write the declaration in Hindi?

No. The IBPS notices say English only, in your own handwriting, and the SBI advertisement says English.
